Cartloom allows you to setup a variety of shipping methods and rates. You can calculate rates based on order total value or on weight. If your product and logistic needs exceed the basic offering of Cartloom rules, consider looking at our direct carrier integration.
Cartloom's rules are based on groupings of ship-to countries called Ship-To Groups. You can easily create rules that apply to buyers from multiple countries by creating a Ship-To Group and then assigning desired countries to a group. For example, depending on your carrier's rate and zone structure, you might want to create a Ship-To Group called EUROZone and add all appropriate European nations.

Shipping Method Title:
This is the name your customers will see in their shipping selection menu - ie, use Ground,Priority, Next Day Air, International Surface Mail, etc
Rule Type:
Select one of:
Weight (total of all items in cart cumulative weight), Quantity ( total number of items in cart ) or Total ( total amount of cart contents ).
Start / Stop:
The number entered in the Start: and Stop: fields is a representation of what you've selected this rule to be based on (ie, weight or order amount). Keep in mind that since CartLoom does not tie measurements to any one region that weights are relative to what YOU have chosen to use when specifying product weights. If you've used grams as your weight entry unit in products, then setup your weight based rules based on grams. Similarly, if you've used ounces as your weight entry, build your weight based rules in ounces. If you've used pounds, use pounds, etc.
Rates are entered with a FROM value, a TO value and a shipping AMOUNT. Here's an example constructed for a seller who's setup unit is in POUNDS. Most of his products are from 1 to 10 pounds in weight
Start | Stop | Amount |
1 | 10 | 8.95 |
11 | 21 | 14.95 |
22 | and up | 19.95 |
Note the use of the AND UP checkbox on the final rule for this Ship-To Group. This allows Cartloom to be aware that the amount on this rule will be the maximum specified and that all orders exceeding the final stop value will be charged this final "AND UP" amount for shipping.
IMPORTANT - You MUST have ‘and up’ as the final TO parameter in your shipping rule. With this example, a customer completing checkout with a total weight of 14 pounds would be charged $14.95 for shipping with this method. A customer with a checkout weight of 30 pounds would be charged $19.95.
And lastly, applying this same rate table as an AMOUNT based rule, you'd have these results: a customer whose cart totaled $15.00 would be charged $14.95 at checkout. A customer with a total of $70.00 would be charged $19.95 shipping
