Creating Discounts

Discounts are an integral part of Cartloom's checkout process.  You can establish discount codes based on a variety of criteria and requirements.  Discounts may be applied automatically if all criteria or met or you can require a discount code to be provided by the customer.  Cartloom also supports the import of discount codes.

To add a new discount, selec the Discounts menu from the Cartloom seller admin toolbar.  You have the following discount configuration options available:

Enable
Choose Yes to make this discount active

Auto
If you want to apply discounts to any qualifying orders automatically, choose YES.  If you want to require the customer to enter a Discount Code, set to NO.

Discount Title
When a discount is applied to an order, the line item on the invoice showing the discount can also display a title or name for the discount. This could be something like "Customer Loyalty Discount" or $10 off any order over $100.  Just something descriptive to allow you and the customer to see what the discount is for.

Use Code List
Pull from a list of available discount codes ( Code List, see below ). Code will be removed from Code List after a successful use.

Discount Code
The unique discount code that the user will enter into the discount field at checkout to apply this discount to the order.

Code List
A list of unique codes to be used with the Use Code List feature. Just enter a unique code per line in the provided text box.

Discount Amount
This can be EITHER a specific amount or a percentage of the total order.  if you enter 10.00 in this field as a fixed amount, it will be $10 of (or 10 units of whatever your currency is).  If you use 10.00 and select a percent discount, it would be 10% off.  How this value is used is determined by the discount type selected in the next field.

Discount Type
Select either a Fixed Amount or a Percentage.  The type of discount selected here is applied to the value entered in the Discount Amount field above.

Unlimited Use
If you want to restrict the total number of uses for any given discount, select NO here.  If discounts can be used an unlimited number of total times (from all users, not just an individual user) then choose YES.

Apply Once
The discount will only be applied once per cart.

Self Destruct
The discount will automatically delete after it is used one time.

Allowance
If Unlimited Use above is set to NO, then enter the maximum number of total redemptions of this coupon you will honor.

There are three ways to target discounts:

Amount is Greater Than:

Start Date
Sets the beginning availability date for the discount.  Discount can not be used BEFORE this date/time.

End Date
Sets the ending availability date for the discount.  Discount can not be used AFTER this date/time.
